Dear Mr. Trump,

It’s with a great deal of sadness that I must point out the obvious. This confrontation at our embassy in Baghdad didn’t have to happen and wouldn’t have happened had you honored America’s word and not abandoned the Iran nuclear deal.

Your so-called strategy of walking away our commitments, in order to squeeze Iran into a pulp, has clearly not worked. You can’t be surprised, in that case, that Iran and its allied militias have no desire to keep peace with the United States.

When Iran trusted our country to keep its word, you proved they were wrong and foolish to do so. Now, you have left our country and our brave military men and women no alternative but ever-escalating conflicts leading to war. The Trump War. The war you really want.

And your attempt to turn this to a political discussion, once again, of Benghazi, is abhorrent. You were able to send Marines into the embassy at a moment’s notice only because of the special task forces set up by President Obama after the tragedy in Benghazi. Reagan never set up such a force, nor did George H.W. Bush, nor did George W. Bush.

What a pathetic mockery of a real president you are.

Dear Mr. Trump,

Something else you haven’t read in A Warning is the series of questions Anonymous poses to the people who voted for you in 2016. After noting that we’ve been phenomenally lucky to avoid “a monumental international crisis” since you’ve been in office, he/she goes on to ask:

“Do you want to keep our nuclear arsenal, and our nation’s military, under the stewardship of a man who ignores intelligence briefings, who puts his self-interest ahead of the country’s needs during international engagements, who enjoys the company of foreign thugs, who our enemies think is a fool they can manipulate, who has shunned our friends, whose credibility has been shattered, and who are national security leaders no longer trust?” (244-45)

Obviously, any sane person who voted for you would have to vote against you in 2020 unless they answer “yes” to these questions: “Yes” they’d love to have another four years of your ignoring intelligence briefings. “Yes” they’d love to have another four years of your putting your self-interest ahead of America’s. “Yes” they’d love have to have another four years of your sucking up to foreign thugs. “Yes” they’d love to have another four years of your not being trusted by our national security leaders.

Anonymous astutely points out that your former voters can “bury [their] heads in the sand” and vote for you again in 2020 or recognize your moral depravity and total unfitness to lead our country and, by firing you, “rejuvenate public life.” (256) Anonymous urges voters to heroically stand against you in 2020 as the courageous souls on United 93 heroically fought against their hijackers on September 11, 2001.

Anonymous’s point, if you’re missing it, is that you’re as much of a threat to America as al-Qaeda.

Sadly, I must concur.

Dear Disaster-in-the-Oval-Office,

I know you don’t read, but if you did read, you’d really learn a lot about yourself from A Warning, by Anonymous.

You’d learn that your close advisors “find [you] unfit for the job.” (1)

You’d learn that you “can’t focusing on governing” and that you are “prone to abuses of power.” (1)

You’d learn that you “still lack the guiding principles needed to govern our nation and [that you] fail to display the rudimentary qualities of leadership we should expect of any commander in chief.” (3)

You’d learn that you now listen to only those who most “abet and encourage [your] bad behavior.” (6)

You’d learn that the book was written in part as a response to your spiteful and resentful reaction at the death of John McCain, “when the loss of a good man revealed the true nature of a troubled one.” (2)

Most of the facts recited in this book are matters of public record, pulled together intelligently and with a genuine concern about the future of our country. The recitation of private conversations is fully believable, as it accords with everything you’ve done publicly.

Keep in mind that this book has been written – not by a “Never Trumper” – but by one who tried and is still trying his or her utmost to support you, by someone who’s no friend of the Democrats.

This Republican warns that, if you are reelected, then “the guardrails will be gone entirely, and [you will be] freed from the threat of defeat … embolden[ing] you to double down on your worst impulses.” (7)

The book clearly demonstrates that our country cannot afford and will not survive another Trump term. Hence, we who love our country must and will rise up to defeat you soundly at the polls.

Dear Illegitimate President,

How fitting that you should be calling the shots to the spineless Republicans in the Senate as your impeachment trial approaches.

It’s like John Wilkes Booth sitting as the judge in the trial of John Wilkes Booth.

First, you’ve directed Moscow Mitch to prevent the witnesses with the most knowledge – Mike Mulvaney and John Bolton – from testifying. It’s like saying that eyewitnesses who saw Booth hold up the gun to President Lincoln’s head and fire would be disallowed in Booth’s trial.

Second, you’ve directed Gutless Graham and his brainwashed brethren to declare that they won’t listen to any evidence, that they are ready, willing, and able to violate their oaths as jurors to judge the impeachment fairly. It’s like saying that the jurors in Booth’s trial Booth must be only those who promise beforehand to acquit.

Third, you’ve prevented any documents of your misdeeds to be produced, notwithstanding Congress’s constitutional duty to act as a check on the Executive Branch. You’ve ordered the State Department, the Defense Department, the Office of Management and Budget, the Vice President’s office to stonewall. It’s like ordering the doctor who pronounced President Lincoln dead by gunshot not to testify about the cause of death in Booth’s trial.

When the day comes that the Executive Branch comes into the power of a reasonable and fair administration, the documents will be discovered. I’m sure you’re now planning to break even more laws by having all such documents destroyed.

When the day comes that the Attorney General is not your sycophant, and you are no longer in the Oval Office, you will be indicted. I’m sure you’re now drafting your own pardon and those of your family and complicit traitors.

Yet, you will be held accountable.

Dear Mr. Trump,

Or should I call you “Dear Misogynist Pig”? The book A Warning gives ample evidence to prove, once again, what we all know: that you demean women, hate women, look down upon women.

If you were a decent person, a president for all of America, you wouldn’t treat women like that. And, if elephants had wings, maybe they could fly.

“He comments on makeup,” the author alleged. “He makes jokes about weight. He critiques clothing. He questions the toughness of women in and around his orbit. He uses words like ‘sweetie’ and ‘honey’ to address accomplished professionals.”

Your so-called press secretary called this a “work of fiction,” but isn’t it amazing how closely this “fiction” tracks to proven facts?

How you cheated on and committed adultery against three wives?

How you bragged about “grabbing p@@@” as if sexual attacks were something to be proud of?

How you demeaned a female reporter by suggesting that she had “blood coming out of her whatever”?

How you attacked Dr. Christine Ford when she testified truthfully – at great personal cost – that your Supreme Court appointee was also a sexual predator?

How you have allowed the Violence Against Women Act to expire at the demand of the gun lobby, and to hell with the abused women murdered by guns hereafter.

I will ask all the readers of my letter to, not only share this on social media, but to talk to all of their friends of voting age, male and female, and question them as to whether you are truly the kind of person to be allowed to remain in the Oval Office.

Dear Russian Agent Who Occupies the Oval Office,

I’m sorry I haven’t written in a week, but if I tried to keep up with the speed that you subvert our country’s interests, my keyboard would jam, my fingers would fall off, and my head would explode.

Of course the leaders of the free world laughed at your buffoonery at the G7 conference. How could they not? As the French foreign minister notes, you’re a clown who doesn’t read anything. But it’s worse: You’re a Russian agent, as all can easily see.

You praise Putin and choose to believe him over our country’s dedicated intelligence community.

You meet secretly with Putin to discuss your true intentions re Russia, and you give no one has access to the notes of your meeting.

You side with Putin against our ally, Ukraine, and contribute to the deaths of Ukrainian soldiers fighting the invading Russian forces.

You repeat Putin’s talking points about how Russia had nothing to do with interfering with our 2016 election. Indeed, you and your treasonous Republican colleagues are paving the way for additional Russian interference in 2020.

This is exactly what the Founding Fathers feared might happen with a president who cares nothing about the country he’s sworn to protect.

The two most likely reasons you’re a Russian stooge: (1) you are currying favor to build hotels in Russia and grab a big slice of the money pie that Russian oligarchs accumulate at the expense of the Russian people, and (2) Putin has blackmail goods on you. Frankly, I think both must be true.

Dear Imposter-in-the-White-House,

At yet another Thanksgiving holiday, let me tell you what I’m thankful for:

That the cretin with the nuclear codes – that would be you, Sir – hasn’t blown us all up already, by virtue of his reason-defying, self-serving, cavalier approach to foreign relations.

That the illegitimately elected clown in the White House – again, if you’ve guessed I’m talking about you, you are perceptive – hasn’t made us all a colony of Russia, as he caters to Putin’s every whim.

That we live in a country governed by a constitution that recognizes the threat of a president who wishes he could be a dictator and that has the mechanism to peaceably throw him out of office, on his ass, where he deserves to be.

That we have true American patriots, willing to defy your orders to stonewall, willing to risk their lives and careers in honor of the truth and our democratic ideals, not afraid to testify under oath, even though you outrageously target them as traitors. Unlike you, they are heroes. Unlike you, they are not cowards.

That history will record your presidency as the lowest point in America’s long saga and that, when you’re gone, we can only go upward.

For someone so concerned about alleged corruption in Ukraine, you really don’t know any of the people who were charged with implementing your policies?

Who’s Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman? The Ukrainian expert on the National Security Council. There’s probably no one more crucial in supporting our national security through our ally, Ukraine. Your people – that sorry group of Republicans in Congress – try to tarnish him as an immigrant.

Who’s William Taylor, you ask? The person you appointed to represent the United States in Ukraine. He knew what you were doing was wrong.

Who’s Gordon Sondand, you ask? Only the man who contributed $1,000,000 to your inaugural and who, among other things, called you from a Ukraine restaurant to satisfy your hunger for news about how Ukraine would help you undermine an American political opponent. Now, he admits that, of course, there was a quid pro quo. So you “hardly know him”? That’s so ridiculous as to be impeachable by itself.

Who’s Rudy Giuliani? You really don’t know? He’s your lawyer, the one you charged to accomplish the bribery scheme, your trade of US support to fight Russia in return for a political favor, the effort to tarnish Joe Biden and his family.

Who’s Marie Yavonovich? The former US Ambassador to Ukraine, the one you bad-mouthed, the one you threatened, the one who was actually concerned with helping Ukraine fight real corruption, the one who visited the front lines of Ukraine’s was with Russian aggression 10 times, and whom you mistreated in your typical, callous way. She’s an American hero. You’re an American thug.

When the history books are written about this shameful period of America’s history, you will be regarded as the worst traitor the United States has ever known.

Dear Mr. Trump,

At long last, you will get the infamy you deserve. The public will be able to see honorable witnesses – lifetime government servants, war heroes – testify about how you distorted US foreign policy for personal, political gain; about how you put in danger the lives of Ukrainians fighting Russian aggression; about how you subverted the interests of democracy and undermined the State Department; about how your cowardly supporters tried to hide the shameful facts of your conduct.

Your supposed defense, your talking points, argue that the witnesses didn’t hear the policy you implemented directly from your mouth. That might be true. The people who spoke directly to you might not testify because you’ve ordered them not to. The purported reason for your order – “absolute immunity” – has absolutely no basis in law. The president is not above the law, and it’s yet another abuse of your power to order people to defy lawful subpoenas. But there’s tons of evidence to establish the truth of what the witnesses who testify will say.

Meanwhile, you entertain another strongman thug, Erdogan, in the White House, after allowing him into Syria to butcher those he doesn’t like. There’s blood on your hands and his, and when you shake his hand, the colors will match perfectly.

Just like you didn’t and don’t give a damn about our ally, the Ukrainians, you didn’t and don’t give a damn about our ally, the Kurds.

You are decidedly the most unfit for the presidency to occupy the Oval Office. You make Richard Nixon look like a saint. I never thought I’d be able to write a sentence like that about any president, but you’ve made the writing sadly easy.

Your behavior is so far from “perfect” – your new favorite adjective – that any Republican who tries to echo your sentiments is in grave danger of losing his or her office.

Imagine Sen. Amy Klobuchar was nominated to run against you in 2020, as well she might. Imagine that China has hacked into your campaign’s private emails, found evidence that your campaign urges you to lie about your accomplishments because “your stupid base will believe anything.” Imagine that the Klobuchar campaign, aware of these thefts and the imminent release of the emails, plans its own actions accordingly.

You and the Republican hypocrites in Congress would be screaming bloody hell, but your campaign did exactly that in 2016, and you consider this “perfect.”

(Of course, neither Sen. Klobuchar nor any other potential Democratic nominee would do as I’ve outlined. It’s only you, Mr. Corrupt President.)

Imagine that, having received the nomination, Sen. Klobuchar’s campaign asks the Chinese or Iranian governments to begin an investigation of you, Donald Trump, e.g., to find evidence of multiple tax frauds and other illegal conduct, to find “corruption.” Imagine that she offers a bargain for that “favor, though”: concessions on a trade agreement, concessions on sanctions, etc.

You and the Republican hypocrites in Congress would be screaming bloody hell, but, when you engage in exactly the kind of conduct with the Ukrainian government, you call it “perfect.” And now the spineless Republicans are echoing that sentiment.

(Of course, neither Sen. Klobuchar nor any other potential Democratic nominee would do as I’ve outlined. It’s only you, Mr. Corrupt President.)

Perfect? Your behavior is perfectly corrupt, perfectly anti-democratic, perfectly an abuse of power, perfectly treasonous.
